Quick couplings have revolutionized the agricultural industry by providing an efficient and reliable means of connecting and disconnecting implements and attachments on tractors. These essential components streamline operations, saving both time and effort for farmers and agricultural workers.
What are Quick Couplings?
Quick couplings, also known as quick-connect couplers, are mechanical devices designed to connect fluid lines or hydraulic systems quickly and securely. They allow for easy attachment and detachment of implements, such as plows, harrows, seeders, and other farming equipment, to a tractor without the need for tools or significant effort.
Quick Couplings for Mid-SCV / Loader (Remote) Connections on Tractors
Modern tractors come equipped with advanced features to enhance their versatility and efficiency on the field. One such feature is the Mid-SCV (Selective Control Valve) / Loader (Remote) connections, which facilitate the use of various attachments and implements. Quick couplings play a crucial role in these connections, enabling seamless attachment and detachment of implements.

Note 1/2″ ISO 5675 can work together with 1/2″ ISO 7241 Series A, so when you check the AG couplers from the manufacturers, like Faster NV series, Parker 4000 Series, and AKJia AG series, they will say, only the 1/2″ size fit ISO 7241 Series A.
Quick Couplings for Power Beyond Connections on Tractors
Power Beyond connections on tractors are designed to provide continuous hydraulic power to attachments and implements that require a steady flow of hydraulic fluid. These connections are essential for operating hydraulic motors, continuous flow applications, and other high-demand hydraulic functions. Quick couplings play a vital role in Power Beyond systems, enabling easy and efficient connections.
What are Power Beyond Connections?
Power Beyond, also known as High-Flow, provides an additional hydraulic outlet that allows for the continuous flow of hydraulic fluid to specific implements or attachments. This connection bypasses the standard hydraulic circuits, offering a direct and uninterrupted hydraulic power source, making it ideal for high-demand hydraulic applications.

Other Tractor Models Quick Couplings
There are many other brands and models of tractors that use different kinds of quick couplings. Because spare parts are also an important source of income for them. Therefore, they usually do not list the standards and size of quick couplings on their websites or on their manuals. Users need to find alternative quick coupling products by themselves. Usually, users can save 2/3 of the cost. And because the seal ring can be replaced, the cost of use can be greatly reduced.
For example, the Kubota BX23S tractor, that they have a special design of flat face quick couplings.
There are 4 sets of flat face quick couplings, and the male couplers have special design. We know the size is 1/4″, and the flat face Female couplers are pretty easy to find a replacement. But for the Male coupler, you cannot find the 100% fit replacements.
The Female Flat Face Couplers can buy anywhere. Like list below, but the male couplers would be difficult to find the replacement. Moreover, generally speaking, the male coupler of the flat face coupling is more likely to leak because the valve of the male end moves during the connection process of the flat face quick couplings. Therefore, you can find the sealing ring material in the male end.

Upgrade your hydraulic systems with our premium 1/4″ Size Flat Face Female Coupler ISO 16028, designed for superior performance and reliability. Featuring a 1/4″ NPT thread, this coupler ensures seamless connections in a wide range of industrial and mechanical applications.
in order to save money and make easy to replace the quick couplings. I find some users will use the ISO 5675 couplers to replace all the flat face quick couplings.
Identifying Tractor Quick Coupler Types and Sizes
The quick connectors used on tractors, except for those with special designs, can be divided into 4 situations when using standard quick connectors in most cases.
ISO 5675 AG Quick Couplings
In fact, the ISO 5675 standard only specifies two sizes of quick connectors. One is 1/2″ and the other is 3/4″. They are two additional size requirements based on ISO7241 Series A. You can view the ISO 5675-2021 standard document (the standard document comes from the Internet).
However, in fact, among the quick connectors used on agricultural machinery by major quick connector manufacturers, only 1/2″ is truly in line with the ISO 5675 standard. Pioneer (now belonged to Parker) specifies the connection size requirements. Now all brands of quick connectors on the market can be used interchangeably. For example, AKJia’s AG series, faster’s NV series, Stauff’s ID series, Parker 4000 series, Holmbury’s DINV series, etc. Because they can also use different valves, there are also two series: ball valves and needle valves.
To judge this type of quick connector, the most effective way is to measure two key dimensions. In the article on judging ISO A and ISO B, we mentioned the method of measuring the diameter of the first step. However, because this type of quick connector for agricultural machinery has some design dimensions of ISO A and ISO B applied during design. Therefore, we need to introduce a different dimension for identification. For example, the diameter of the first section of the 1/4-size quick connector of the ISO 5675 standard is about 14.2mm, which is the same as the 1/4” size quick connector of the ISO B standard. But the dimensions after that are different. Therefore, we can distinguish the ISO 5675 1/4” quick connector from the ISO B 1/4” quick connector by the difference in the two dimensions.
ISO A Quick Couplings
ISO A quick connectors are used on many tractors, especially 1/2″ size quick connectors are widely used in Europe. Especially the push-pull series. And the 1/2″ size ISO 5675 quick connector is interchangeable with the 1/2″ size ISO A quick connector. But only the 1/2″ size is interchangeable. We can also measure the key dimensions to determine the type and size of the quick connector.
ISO B Quick Couplings
ISO B quick couplings, designed according to the ISO 7241-1 B standard, are another popular choice for agricultural tractors. Known for their robust design and reliability, these couplings are widely used in hydraulic systems that demand high performance and durability.
Coupler | AG ISO 5675 | IA ISO 7241 Series A | IB ISO 7241 Series B | |||
Size | Diameter 1 | Diameter 2 | Diameter 1 | Diameter 2 | Diameter 1 | Diameter 2 |
1/8” | – | – | – | – | 10.9 | 12.15 |
1/4” | 14.2 | 16.8 | 11.8 | 12.9 | 14.2 | 15.65 |
3/8” | 19 | 21.5 | 17.25 | 18.3 | 19.1 | 20.1 |
1/2” | 20.5 | 23.5 | 20.5 | 23.5 | 23.5 | 25.7 |
3/4” | 26.8 | 29.9 | 29.1 | 30.4 | 31.4 | 32.7 |
1” | 31 | 34.75 | 34.25 | 36.5 | 37.75 | 40.5 |
1 1/4” | – | – | 45 | 47.7 | – | – |
1 1/2” | – | – | 55 | 57.5 | 44.5 | 48 |
2” | – | – | 65 | 70 | 63.2 | 66.6 |
There will be some tolerances when measuring. The size itself will also have a certain tolerance. usually it will be not over 0.1 tolerance. But by measuring the two diameters, you can analyze what type of quick connector you have. Because the designs of these three quick connectors are very similar. In fact, if you are replacing a whole set of products, their flow and working pressure are similar. On our Amazon store, a customer complained that our product size is one size smaller. In fact, he replaced the ISO B 3/4 quick connector with an ISO A 3/4 size product. But he said it can still be used. This is because the working pressure and flow performance are very similar.
Flat Face Quick Couplings
Most flat face quick connectors comply with ISO 16028 standards, with sizes ranging from 1/8″ to 2″. However, 1/8″ is not within the scope of ISO16028 standards. However, they are usually interchangeable between different manufacturers because the size of the connecting part is also unified. Tractor brands actually like to use flat quick connectors because the flat face quick connector is a no-spill design. During the disconnection process, the fluid loss is minimal. And they are pretty easy to clean. However, many tractor users will complain because the seal of the flat quick connector is easily damaged. However, it is troublesome to replace the seal.
